The Quad Cities’ Real Alternative
At Planet 93.9, we don’t do corporate radio. No cookie-cutter playlists. No out-of-touch executives. No being told what “sells” by someone sitting in a high-rise three states away. We’re locally owned, fiercely independent, and built for people who know radio should be more than background noise—it should mean something to the community it serves.
The spark? It started over a simple coffee.
When Fletcher Ford, CEO of Regional Media One, sat down with veteran radio host Dave Levora, the conversation wasn’t about playing it safe. It was about fixing what corporate radio broke—bringing real, local radio back to life. With Darren Brown, COO of Regional Media One, turning that vision into reality, that coffee meeting became the blueprint for something different: a station where creativity thrives, personalities shine, and the community—not corporations—calls the shots.
Dave Levora, who had left radio more than once after watching corporate consolidation suck the soul out of the industry, found his home at Planet 93.9. Partnering with Darren Pitra for “Dave & Darren in the Morning,” they’ve made it clear—this isn’t your typical radio station. It’s unpredictable, it’s personal, and it’s packed with the passion that corporate playlists could never replicate.
As part of Regional Media One, Planet 93.9 is more than just The Quad Cities’ Real Alternative in music—it’s an alternative in how media should operate. Regional Media One isn’t just a radio company. It’s a full-scale local marketing powerhouse, combining radio, digital, screen advertising, news, events, and community engagement—all driven by a commitment to stay local, stay authentic, and stay connected.
We promote local businesses, fuel community initiatives, and play what actually resonates—not what some algorithm dictates.
It started with a coffee. It became a mission.
Welcome to Planet 93.9—powered by Regional Media One. Radio the way it was meant to be. Local. Real. Yours.
